BEACHES

Kaladi is the best and most popular beach on the island, located on the eastern part of the island, right next to Palaiopolis. The beach is divided into three parts, the third and most impressive being a small cave which ends up on a very small beach with crystal bue waters. The eastern side of the beach is ideal when the wind blows west, south or when the north wind is not too strong. To get there, you need to drive on a dirt road for a few meters and then descend the approximately 120 stone steps. The beach is not organized.
Melidoni beach lies in the southwest of the island connected by dirt road to the village of Drimonas. You’ll be impressed by its little bay with the fine sand, crystal clear waters and a view to the island of Chytra. The beach is orgasnized and an alternative way to access the beach would be by boat from the port of Kapsali.


Chalkos is one of the most popular beaches on the island, located just few kilometres away from Kalamos village. Is an organized beach with a canteen, umbrellas and deck chairs. There is also a spacious parking area.
Kapsali is an awarded by the Blue Flag beach in the southernmost of Kythira and consists of two bays forming natural omega. It is large and consists of pebbles and sand. There is car parking. The beach during summer testator organization, and rental of water sports. The view from the beach is breathtaking with its Venetian castle of Choras towering from high, the monastery of Agios Ioannis of the theologian, and the Mediterranean sea on the rocky Chytra.


Komponada is one of the wildest beaches on the east part of the island, located between Firi Ammos of Kalamos and Kaladi. It has large pebbles and very deep waters. To approach the beach, head to the villages Travasarianika or Goudianika and then follow the signs through the asphalt road all the way to the beach. The beach is organized during the summer with frequently beach parties taking place.
Palaiopolis beach is the largest on the island located between the village of Avlemonas and the settlement of Skandia. The beach combines parts of pebbles and sand and is ideal for water sports - skiing, windsurfing, etc. Legend has it that goddess Aphrodite emerged at the sea of Palaiopolis so, if you explore the area, you’ll find the ancient baths of the Goddess!
